Sculptural form and function come together in this dynamic canopy project.
BŌK Modern worked with Iwamotoscott and Terra Nova Ind to develop a structural steel canopy that doubles as a functional shading element and statement architectural feature above the outdoor dining area at the Serif Condominiums in downtown San Francisco.
Using 35 unique “wedge-shaped” aluminum modules, BŌK experts arranged the metal panels together in a geometric arrangement for a three-dimensional appearance that provides shade and visual intrigue. 14-feet tall V-shaped vertical columns support the entire structure—designed to be bolted together on-site for a simple and efficient installation. BŌK also developed matching planters and columns in a matte light gray to complete the space for a cohesive, modern design.
Our first collaboration with Iwamotoscott, the new mixed-use development brings innovative design and thoughtful architectural details to the cityscape.
