The Landing

A newly constructed four story residential building makes the most of selective application of BŌK Modern panels. As key architectural elements that create vertical patterns across entire elevations, the panels themselves repeat the use of vertical patterns to filter light and create separation. Smaller alternate pattern panels between unit balconies enhance privacy.

Palm Springs BŌK Modern supplied stair panels for a Kimpton Hotel lobby In Palm Springs. The solid guardrail panels provide a sturdy and powerful structure, contrasting against the ethereal effect of the floating staircase. These panels were made from 12 gauge hot rolled steel with a field-applied finish. Handrail brackets are built into the side flanges of the 2” deep panels, providing support for an elegant teak handrail. The solid panels accent the cutout portion. 2175 Market Street

On the ‘prow’ end of a multi-family housing project in the Castro district of San Francisco, architect VWMP utilized BŌK Modern’s rain-screen system in aluminum finished with a rusted steel effect paint system. This finish is perfect for clients who want the ‘Cor-ten’ steel look but wants to avoid the rust drips over time. Containing iron ore powder in the paint and applied with acid, the rust effect happens overnight and is almost impossible differentiate from actual rusted metal. Other BŌK Modern elements on the project include Juliette balcony’s in anodized aluminum, cornice sunshades, guard railing and a pedestrian entrance gate finished in the same rust-effect finish.

SAAS

Seattle, WA In the common areas of the Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences new STREAM building, BŌK Modern was chosen for guardrails, stairs, and louver covers. The fun and open patterning, combined with a consistent look helped to visually unify the space for students and faculty alike. Being indoors, these panels were fabricated from 14 GA steel with a primer and powder coated finish for durability. Hunter’s Point Block 49

Another project by David Baker Architects in the Hunter’s Point district of San Francisco, BŌK Modern provided Cor-Ten guardrails and screens in a custom pattern conceived by the Architects.

This very hip Senior Housing project features a signature entry tower with ‘look-out’ area overlooking the entire South Bay Area.

For a curving stair landing, BŌK Modern provided rolled-steel curved panels resulting in a very sinuous ribbon effect.

BŌK also provided the anodized aluminum sun-shading devices around the southern exposed windows in a scaled down version of the same custom pattern.

West Sacramento

A multifamily residential project designed by David Baker Architects utilizing BŌK Modern’s panels in both anodized aluminum and weathering (rusting) steel. Dramatic multistory screens in our A-19 pattern rotated 90 degrees and fabricated with 12 gauge steel provides both visual interest and doubles as guard railing. Anodized aluminum vertical sunscreens with a custom pattern complement the rusting steel guardrails.
