San Francisco The 285 Lee Street project involved retrofitting the apartment building’s garage door and balcony panels. BŌK Modern updated the existing balcony and door with panels featuring slanted crisscross patterns, evoking a gossamer network of silken threads, or even a mosaic of glass tiles. The bright silver paired wonderfully with the apartment façade’s earth tones for an ultra contemporary look. Dublin, CA For a market rate apartment project in Dublin California, Bōk Modern supplied guardrails with a 'woven' pattern achieved by slatting the metal panel and inserting a vertical stretcher bar woven between the slats. The resulting effect provides both privacy to the unit and masking tenants possessions on the balcony while giving a slightly transparent appearance. Designed by BŌK Modern’s sister company, NC2 Architects, the projects ‘leaf’ theme is used throughout providing a continuity of the elements as well as branding for the project.

A highly mechanized auto stacking system is given elevated aesthetics when wrapped with BŌK Modern panels. Enclosure of the system by both fixed and movable panels provides a pleasing alternative to chain link barriers and better concealment of automobiles. The opportunity for enhanced architectural detail with both pattern and color is repeated in a common area roof patio mechanical enclosure.

Park Valencia

Park Valencia To define and provide security for a children’s play area, the designers created a playful custom pattern for a perimeter fence in a busy Retail center and adjacent vehicular circulation paths. The openings, emulating alligator skin, are small enough to prevent climbing yet open enough to provide visual security. 2175 Market Street

On the ‘prow’ end of a multi-family housing project in the Castro district of San Francisco, architect VWMP utilized BŌK Modern’s rain-screen system in aluminum finished with a rusted steel effect paint system. This finish is perfect for clients who want the ‘Cor-ten’ steel look but wants to avoid the rust drips over time. Containing iron ore powder in the paint and applied with acid, the rust effect happens overnight and is almost impossible differentiate from actual rusted metal. Other BŌK Modern elements on the project include Juliette balcony’s in anodized aluminum, cornice sunshades, guard railing and a pedestrian entrance gate finished in the same rust-effect finish.

Parking garage screens installed in Downtown Los Angeles, this high-rise residential tower sits on 4 levels of above ground parking.

BŌK Modern provided the screening of the parking garage in a custom pattern by the architects, SCB Architects of San Francisco.

The screen walls have tilt out at both the top and the bottom from a diagonal slot across the face of the building. This was achieved by attaching our panels to shaped vertical fins which were attached directly to the edge of slabs.

Station Park Green

1500 Mission Canopy BŌK was initially asked to provide panels only to clad a fabricated truss system that cantilevered out from the street 25 feet typical and 40 feet at the corner. Due to costs exceeding the budget, BŌK designed an alternative system that utilizes folded plate to emulate the truss system dramatically reducing the cost of the canopy while also providing a much better aesthetic.
